A follow-up to 2.6.0, with one new thing for Garmin owners on Android and a feed that finally stays where you left it.
โจ New Features
- Serve from this phone (Android): A Garmin watchface gets its data through Garmin Connect on your phone, so Enhance-d can now answer it from the phone itself, with no internet needed. Turn on Serve from this phone under Watches and displays, then choose the mode the screen names (xDrip+, AAPS or Spike) in your watchface settings. It sends xDrip+ or AAPS readings from the same phone while they are less than 15 minutes old, and your Enhance-d account otherwise, so the watch keeps showing glucose when one source goes quiet. Only apps on your phone can reach it. Like the watch link, it is a Pro feature.
๐ฆ Improvements
- The feed stays put: The feed used to reshuffle and jump back to the top whenever the app synced in the background (every five minutes), or when you came back from an activity. Now it only changes when you pull to refresh, tap the Feed tab while you are on it, or come back after 30 minutes away. The next page loads well before you reach the end, and group threads arrive with their linked activity in place instead of pushing the cards below them down.
- Smoother scrolling: Liking a post or loading a page no longer redraws every card on screen.
- Share with the map (Android): Sharing an activity image while its map was showing used to be blocked. The image now includes the route map, as it already did on iPhone.
- Watches and displays: Watch and widget access is now called Watches and displays, in every language.
- The example feed stays: If you don't follow anyone yet, the feed always opens on the example activities, events and podcasts, instead of swapping them for a bare "who to follow" row after a refresh.
- Live glucose notice on every visit: Screens that send your glucose outside the app (Watches and displays, and setting up a live CGM connection) now show the "Enhance-d is not a medical device" notice each time you open them. A watch already reading your link carries on, and revoking a link never asks. If you choose Not now, a banner says live glucose is paused there and opens the notice again.
๐ Bug Fixes
- "Open Enhance-d to sync" while it was syncing (Android): One failed request in the background could stall background sync until you next opened the app, so you were asked to open Enhance-d to resume syncing while your glucose was in fact still uploading. Background sync no longer waits on it.
- Turkish paywall: Showed a placeholder error instead of the saving. Fixed.
๐ Translations
- Medical terms that changed the advice: "Hypo" no longer reads as hypotension, hypothermia or a hippopotamus, insulin doses no longer read as a radiation dose in Japanese, and "activity snacking" (short bursts of exercise to bring a high down) no longer reads as eating snacks. A Hungarian safety note that said "stop the treatment" now says "stop exercising". 579 strings corrected.
- The app's everyday words: The Feed tab no longer reads as animal fodder in Czech, Danish, Hungarian and Japanese, time in range no longer reads as "within reach", and the NovoPen is no longer a ballpoint pen. 1,821 strings corrected, with one term for each idea in each language.
- Lows and highs: "A low" no longer reads as a stock market low or low air pressure. 358 strings corrected.
- Permission prompts in your language (iPhone): The prompts for location, camera, Health, Bluetooth, Face ID and photos now appear in the app's language, and say Enhance-d rather than "enhanced".
๐ Notes
- After updating, Watches and displays and live CGM setup ask you to agree to the live glucose notice each time you open them. This is on purpose.
- Serve from this phone is Android only. On iPhone, keep using the watch link: iOS does not let an app in the background answer the watch.
- This build is available on iOS and Android.
