No watch, no bike computer, no problem. 2.6.0 lets you record an activity on the phone itself, and it lands in your feed with its map and glucose-coloured route like any other. Thank you to everyone who asked for this.
โจ New Features
- Record an activity: Tap + and choose Record an activity. Outdoors, Enhance-d records your route, distance and pace or speed with GPS. Indoors it is a simple timer that never asks for your location. Your last activity type is already picked, with the ones you use most beside it.
- Real activities, not notes: A finished recording is saved as a proper activity, so it reaches your feed with its map, your glucose along the route and your stats, just like a synced one.
- Keeps recording with the phone locked: Lock the phone and keep going. On Android the recording carries on even if you swipe the app away. On iPhone, closing the app pauses the recording, and it is waiting for you when you open it again. Before you start, Enhance-d checks for the settings that stop a locked-phone recording (precise location, Android battery optimisation, notifications) and tells you how to fix each one.
- Never lose a recording: Saving always works, even with no signal. Recordings wait on your phone and upload by themselves when you are back online, without ever saving twice. Anything still waiting is listed under + with Retry and Discard.
- Auto-pause and GPS detail: Optional auto-pause below a speed you choose (off unless you turn it on), separate pace and speed units, and the activity type can be changed mid-recording. Tap the GPS icon to see how good your signal is and what that means for distance and pace.
- Garmin device names: Activities, sleep, steps and weight from Garmin now show the Garmin tag with the device that recorded them, for example "Garmin fenix 7".
- Terms and Privacy updates: When our Terms or EULA change in a way that needs your agreement, the app shows what changed and asks you to agree, or sign out. An updated Privacy Policy is shown once.
๐ฆ Improvements
- Watch and widget access, redesigned: A clearer screen for your Nightscout-compatible link, with a step-by-step guide for each device (Garmin written out in full), the address and token you need up front, and the other formats folded away. Every language has been hand-checked too: "Token" no longer reads as a game counter in Italian, Spanish, Polish, Romanian and Turkish.
- Live glucose notice, per account: The notice that Enhance-d is not a medical device and does not raise high or low alerts is now agreed once per account rather than once per phone, and again only if it changes. Until you agree, live glucose is paused, and a banner on Home and Integrations says so and opens the notice.
- Delete & Re-import says what it did: After Delete & Re-import the integration stays connected, as it always was, and the screen says the last 90 days are being re-imported, or that the provider refused. Resync says when it has started and why it was declined, custom dates now cover whole days, and the warning that resync deletes data only appears where it does.
- Apple Health stays connected after updates: After an app update, Enhance-d no longer asks you to reconnect Apple Health when your permissions are still in place. It quietly re-registers instead.
- Fewer Health Connect permissions: Enhance-d no longer asks Health Connect for resting heart rate, which it does not use, and daily steps keep syncing.
- Suggested users load properly: The Search tab shows a spinner while suggestions load instead of "No suggested users found".
๐ Bug Fixes
- Deleting a manual activity: It always failed. Fixed.
- Offline banner covering the feed: The offline banner now sits under each screen's header instead of over the first rows of content.
- Complete Your Profile card: No longer stays on Home after you skip the flow.
- Sleep tab footer: No longer hidden behind the tab bar.
- Android crashing in the background: Every background sync leaked a network listener until Android refused any more and killed the app. This was 82% of 2.5.1's crashes. Fixed.
- Crash when going back: Going back from a screen at the wrong moment could crash the app on Android. This was the most widespread crash from 2.4.1 to 2.5.1. Fixed.
- Crash dragging the glucose chip: Letting go of the glucose pair chip short of its target crashed the app. Fixed.
- Crash expanding an insight: Expanding an insight that had warnings crashed the app. Fixed.
- Installing without classic Bluetooth: Three Android device models without classic Bluetooth were briefly unable to get 2.6.0 from Play. They can install it now.
๐ Translations
- No more English in the middle: About 430 pieces of text that were stuck in English (groups and events, maps, charts, the feed, carbs, sharing, errors and the example feed) are now translated into all 17 languages.
- Greetings and alerts repaired: The Home greetings were scrambled in French, Italian, Dutch, Polish and Romanian, the free plan text said the opposite of what it meant, and several alerts were cut off after their first line. All fixed.
- Dates in your language: Month and weekday names and "2 hours ago" style times now follow the app's language rather than English or your phone's setting.
๐ Notes
- If you have live glucose connected, you will be asked to agree to the live glucose notice once after updating. Live glucose is paused until you do.
- Manual activity entry has been removed from the + menu. Record an activity instead, or let it sync from your watch or app.
- This build is available on iOS and Android.
