Guardian Monitor to Nightscout Issue
We're currently aware of an issue with the Guardian monitor uploader app for Medtronic data to Nightscout that some users are using. Whilst this app is in no way related to us, we are working closely with the developer to resolve this issue. The uploader does not apply a proper UTC offset value in its upload to nightscout, which in turn means that all values are treated as being UTC. This means that any blood glucose values uploaded via this mechanism may appear several hours in front or behind your local time depending on your offset to UTC. Nightscout applies front-end timezone conversions and stores all data as UTC relative, however, we store data with a UTC value and its UTC offset so that we can display data in the user's local time irrespective of where you are looking. This is important for people who may be having their data reviewed by others but also allows mobile app users to look at activities and glucose data in the other users local time rather than being relative to the onlooker. We hope that guardian monitor app will be updated soon to resolve this issue and correctly store UTC offset values based on the uploader's local time zone.
Some good news... Progress is being made on this by the 3rd party developer who we are supporting, and we hope that they will roll out an update in the coming days. Just a quick update, We have been working closely with the developer and have both been testing on each end, and can confirm that we've made great progress and this fix is now ready to be implemented. The Guardian Monitor developers are going to bundle this fix into their next release expected to be V1.3.0. This is anticipated to be submitted to the App Store in the week commencing 7th October 2024. The release date will be subject to Apple's review process however we will post an update here when the release has been approved and is available on the app store. Good news, this issue now looks to have been resolved in Guardian Monitor version 1.3.0 onwards. We recommend updating your Guardian Monitor app to 1.3.0 or higher before using it to upload data to Nightscout, particularly with Enhance-d or any other 3rd party apps relying on Nightscout data. A huge thank you to the developer Kacper for implementing this update and resolving the Nightscout upload issue now allowing us to correctly access medtronic data.
